Is there a road trail around cradle of human kind or just the "mountain bike" track?

Are there any other places where you can stay on the tar and still do a 40km loop without traffic? These guys are scared of just riding on the shoulder of the road.

Cradle has road and offroad. There is not a lot of car traffic in the Cradle, and a huge number of cyclists, so provided they don't ride like idiots (ie. stay in the cycling lane) there will be no problem with regards to their safety.

For a new rider, just doing the 28k loop from Valverde will be a massive challenge. The Cradle is NOT flat.

Or

Go to Kyalami late afternoon during the week. 4.2k's per lap, about 50m of climbing per lap. No cars at all, but a tough ride. 4.2k's at Kyalami will feel like 10k's to someone who doesn't have a lot of leg strength.

The cradle is 2-way traffic so you can turn around and go back. SBR is one way and its a looooong way if you are suffering.

Like Falco said, the cradle is not flat but there are a number of places to park and start from.

Go to Kyalami race track in the afternoons... R20 gets you on the track... no car traffic with just over 4km per lap... Do 5 laps to get to your 20km and i can promise you that it will be a leeeeekkkkaaaaa training afternoon.... Kyalami is not flat :whistling:
