Can anyone direct me to a doctor in northern Joburg area specialising in/ with lots of experience in treating repetitive strain injuries due to cycling?

I googled the topic but came up with nothing/ nobody specific to South Africa....www.fitnessadvisor.co.za promises the earth but delivers no details when one searches on the site. A few massage therapists come up elsewhere, but I'm looking for persons with proper diagnostic training.

So I wonder if The Hub wouldn't be an appropriate place to host a listing of helpful sports medicine professionals?

Dr (Michael) Barrow (sunninghill) sorted me with a similar issue some years ago (after lots of hit and miss with physio's)

Edit - when I say sorted me - he diagnosed the issue. Treatment wise he referred me back to physio who then was able to sort it quite quickly - what I liked is he didn't default to surgery even though he is an orthopaedic surgeon...

The Training and Nutrition thread in the "Tech Shack" forum is probably the closest to what you are suggesting, but ja a sports medicine specific thread might be a good idea.

Maybe send Admin a pm and suggest it

GOOGLED DR BARROW, impressive guy, may need his orthopaedic services (knees) too, so doubly thanks.

Just note there are 5 Dr Barrows in toto! 4 brothers and the dad! I think 4 of the 5 are orthopadic surgeons!

There are 3 Barrows in that practice - Brian, Michael and Andrew (Dad and 2 sons) a real family business - I think the other brother is an ob/gyn

So - out by an inch.... approximately... :) my bad...

I actually thought Robert has an independent practice - I am well be wrong though - wrong side of town for me - or I could just be confused.

Good lads all - Brian is my favourite the way he treats his socks... bugger took shears to mine the last time I saw him. :)
