So...

Im considering this for the Enduro sled.

I would need...

1 x XX1 Cassette

1 x XX1 Derailleur

1 x XX1 Shifter

1 x 11spd chain

1 x Hope hub spacer

Will keen running my cSixx 150g chainguide with bash plate so I can keep using my Blackspire Mono Veloce chainring .

That is still R10500 for a groupset... Is it really that much better considering I can do 2x10 for a lot less money.

Have a look at pricing from bike-discount.de. Also get a quote from evobikes - they're quite competitive

Prices are from Evobikes. Will check out the other one. Exchange rate is just not ideal at the moment.

You're right, exchange rate is crap.

I must say the upgrade was worth it for me. Deadly quiet, lighter and a nice simple look.

I think wolf tooth conversion to 1x10 is the way forward - no one can afford 3500-4000 casettes man thats grazy

with wolf you can keep everything for instance XT and only change the front ring for around R800 and buy a shadow plus or ZEE RD for R2000 so total conversion is R3000 and no hub conversion adapters needed.

You can then play with casettes probably need 11.36 at the back and have two front chainrings for flat and hilly applications which is fairly easy to swop when needed.

Walla 1x10 for R3000 not R12000

JUTS MY HUMBLE OPINION not for the rich they all go XX1 bling bling

1x10 Will kill the legs on some rides, I really like my SRAM X.0 2x10 setup - hasn't given me any hassles ever! The only gripe I have with it is the effort it takes to get the back wheel in and out.

Rode XT and XTR before as well, not too much of a difference - the SRAM might be slightly better in really muddy conditions, but that's about it.

Thx guys, now you make me worry with all the comments, I've just gone full XO and getting the bike back today...

C'mon, where's the "its awesome, bombproof, shweet, Fantbulous" commentating!!!!

IMHO you can't go much better on a "budget" than XO. I've been riding that for 4 years now and it is strong as anything and handles anything that some of the races including 3 years of Lord of the Chainrings (3 days of mud and guts) can throw at you.

Unfortunately I have had no great experiences with Shimano. I'm sure they're good but I'm a SRAM devotee, It's never let me down!!

I would however also like to try the new XX1 config. Main issue with the top end sets are that they are angled more towards team riders in their design and therefore might require more maintenance.

With tears in my eyes - for your own sake and your riding -go only Shimano. Unless you happy to sit fiddling and replacing parts every few months.

Unless - you a pro with backup mechanic , I sure you be fine.

This guy gets my idiot of the month award :-D
