Try to get hold of a GoPro and get them on video then lay charges against them.

brilliant idea Gummi - and if you turn it backwards behind the seatpost at the right angle you will get the entire action being undertaken with a pic of the perp and the numberplate

Its a good idea mate, but not to sound negative, I can almost assure you nothing will come of it.

At this point, even if the police bother to watch the video theres no injury or loss of property so there is little reason to start a tracing process and prosecute, its not going to happen here anyway.

On the plus side filling in a case docket does leave a paper trail, so in a way if something happens later, (injury, loss of property etc) there is already a case on file which the police can use.

Just stand next to the road, waiting for them, with a clearly visibly paintball gun. Don;t use it, just smile and wave.

Otherwise take a video / photo etc and lay a charge at the copshop.

Do NOT take a knife to a gunfight, the skermunkel may just have an AK47

No offense Grumps but that is exactly why people get away with stuff. When you just give up and lose complete faith in the judicial system then its time to move on. Where do you draw the line? this? maybe assault? burglary? rape? murder? What is being described here is Assault and could quite easily result in culpable homicide if something goes wrong

No offense taken, I understand your point, but, sadly, thats the way it is. We must be careful as we cant really compare rape or murder to someone throwing a soggy ball at a cyclist, and although we can jump on the "what if it was a brick" or similar bandwagon, but the facts are it wasnt, and in effect nothing has happened yet, there is no loss - if it does happen, well it will be looked at differently then but the police only work in retrospect, (ie) after the case, - so as nothing here has happened, I can tell you, they will not do a thing.

.but Yah, I hear you, I know exactly what you mean and I agree, it would be great if we had a more proactive police force who actually took this kind of thing seriously - maybe one day, I hope so.

How weird

Prank?

Don't understand the funny in that

Sure, mostly I think its just mischievous and perhaps the people dont understand the problems that could arise by doing this kind of thing.

Happend to me the other day, a coke bottle was thrown.

I noted the car and knew I would probably catch them further up the road. (They did not know this, nor expect it)

When I got to the car, three inside, the oke at the back was a youngster.

I asked them all if they threw it at me, all denied it.

I did not want to push the point, but was actually glad to have to have caught them, and let them know I can.

It just means next time, I blixem them if it happens again. A bit of preventative maintenance...

Adults though.

Not kids or teenagers.

Yah, thats the way I would say is the right way to handle this sort of thing, if you can reach them of course, make them know you saw what they did and are aware of it,..... sadly I guess the OP cant get to them.

+1 control what you can control and do what you can do. If you don't (in my eyes) you lose the right to complain about the police / NPA / government / whoever not doing their jobs.

Happened to me as well.. lit cigarette was flicked at me, lucky it hit my bike. I got them at the robot but when I realized I was a lot smaller than them I decided I best just act like I never noticed :whistling:

BUT... If you seeing this car regularly... keep some dye in a spare bottle and give them a good spray into the car... hopefully you get it on their carpets to leave a nice little reminder about the 1.5m rule of cyclists.

I think this is a "don't collect R200, go straight to getting the crap beat out of you" card. If you are lucky, otherwise you may end up dead under the same car.

More than likely... I suggest then you do this in a bunch. Safety in numbers.
