Believe me, I have tried.

And I do believe I had asked him if he was interested in the position.

I'm curious to see the standpoint. I would love to think that someone with cycling at heart is interested in the position, and to subsequently affect the change needed.

We have too much "cloak & dagger" going on I feel, and as such I'd like to know whats coming...

Isn't it strange how different people have different perceptions of what they have seen. Here's my take on Mr Lemmers appearance.

He ducked and dived around the question of what the license fees are going to be used for' date=' and what the man in the street will see for his money.. Effectively he said that the fees will be used to pay for the administration of the fees.

He was wearing a T-Shirt with the slogan 'Blacks like me'. Perhaps this is appropriate for a school child at a party, but not for the CEO of CSA. It's ironic that later in the program they were bemoaning the fact that the Tour of SA was cancelled because of lack of sponsorship. Would you entrust a million bucks to a man who can't make the effort to dress properly on National TV?

Perceptions are so important, and I have no doubt that CL is a splendid fellow, but IMHO he needs to clean up his act if he is to attract corporate bucks. This just wasn't good enough.

Thas exactly what I was thinking. This guy comes across looking like a bum, and expects people to take him seriously?

He's not so bad, just a Jap Richard Gere having a bad hair dayLOL

And judging by the company he keeps... no-one takes him seriously either...

Pic didn't come up, but I'm sure you caught him on a good day. Besides he is a politician, they very rarely are taken seriously.... at least they dress properly though, like a wolf in sheep's clothing Big%20smile

Government in most countries are always a bit overdressed.  As mentioned doesn't mean they should be taken seriously.  Our CEO very seldom wears a tie (only when he is addressing suits from investment banks etc).  I don't think a sports programme of any sort is an occasion for a suit.

But then again I am sitting in my office, after just meeting with our CFO, in my takkies, jeans and a t-shirt.  Didn't shave this morning either.  Didn't seem to bother anyone?

Sorry, I just think yhis Lemmer guy is a fool. He looks like a fool, under his leadership, we have had two major proposed tours cancelled, and I (yes, I sit on my @rse all day in front of the TV) have not seen a single piece of the World's View Challenge. Ok, I lie, there was a farce of an insert on StupidCycling last night. Oh, wait, the same show that this supposed CEO? COO? whatever was on and mumbled his way through some questions and sidestepped the rest, whether by design or accident.
