I stay in Moreleta Park in Pretoria and i work in Kyalami. I cycle to work most mornings if it does not rain. It is a 45 km ride and i do not ride on the N1 at all. There is always alternative routes. Nothing like going past all the cars stuck in traffic. We have a shower at work so you can revive yourself and have a great day.

i wish i could ride to work, but a girl riding alone on witkoppen to the R55 and then across to woodmead is risky and the alternate route is worse (through central randburg). so instead i got the little honda and use that so at least i get a 2-wheel "kick" each day

My wife and I cycles to work every day. *shrug* We also do 90% of our shopping and social calls on the bikes. We've been going strong for 6 months now. If we can keep it up through the winter (shouldn't be a problem) we're going to sell the car.

We love going to work, and coming back home is even better. :o)

I like your commitment and positive outlook.

O also would like to cycle to work, but stay 100km from work (on the other side of Hekpoort Pass, so with my MTB it would take 5 hours one way.
