Hi guys

Need some advice.

I want to change the size of my tyres on my fixie. Im currently ridig a 700 23c on the rear and a 700 20c in the front. I was thinking of getting a 700 25c for the rear and then moving the rear tyre to the front.

Will this improve the road handling?

Or should i go even bigger to a 28c?

Thanks

Dan

@ pietas - i want to be able to ride the bike on paths, pavements, roads, in wet condition etc. I wont be doing any cyclocross or anything like that.

just want a stable bike in most coniditions. im not so worried about speed, just want a nice comfortable bike to ride and enjoy.

@ tumbleweed - i have no clue on tyre pressures and what would be a good tyre pressure. Like i mentioned i just want a bike that handles well.

Running a bigger tyre at a lower pressure will increase the chance of pinch punctures. I'd stick with what you have. I run 23mm on my fixie.

My advice.

Go 25 or 28 if you can get a tire.

The ride will be a helluva lot more comfy.

@Danthunders, stick with 23c ja! I run 23c on my fixie and we race alley cat races in cape town. We go everywhere, onto side walks and through side streets and through alleyways, with the bikes and no probs with the 23c!

On sunday, in Paris, because of the cobbled road most of the guys would have been running 25, albeit tubbies .

I have been riding 25 on my roadbike for about 3 years now and on the Jo'burg potholed roads I have not had a pinchflat on them.

I'm about 93kg and they do make a differnce.
