rouxtjie Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=bEJpC55fcKQThere we go, he explains both techniques very well...even though he is missing some tooofs
nigelhicks Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 once you get the movement right its not that difficult. I can get up onto these down at the Durban Beachfront easily on flat pedals http://www.business-gate.com/wp-images/2009/01/durban-beachfront.jpg . ... its all about getting your front wheel up properly first .... then as its up and you "explode" your core forward the back comes up almost instinctively .... Im keen to see the Trials guys in action at Worlds in a couple of weeks - how they bunnyhop some stuff is beyond me Hairy 1
Brian Fantana Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 Another aspect of the bunny hop that makes it handy is the fact that you can hop sideways. To be able to hop sideways is a very handy skill especially when you get cross rutted in a jeep track downhill. This happens quite often in marathons where large sections of the route are not MTB only trails. A sideways hop enables you to change the line while keeping speed. If you try a sideways jerk off in a cross rutted situation... I fear the results might be painful. DR ◣◢ 1
Blindspot Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 Ja but can you pronk without a bike....now that is skill PS try it the next you want to hit on a girl, they go ga-ga for a good pronk I am working on the pronk but it is not that easy. Luckily I am married, but I will show the pronk to my missus when I have mastered it. Thanks for the advice. rouxtjie 1
G00SE Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 .So thought about it and I am settling on "pronk" since its exactly what you doing...you are pronking like a springbok...you might think it looks like a bunny, hopping...but you are not. lol... that's classic - a pronk... describes it perfectly i feel I'm going to see a lot of pronking at groenkloof this weekend. hahaha! rouxtjie 1
