I was reviewing my insurance schedule, and it states that when transporting your bike, blah, blah, blah... it needs to be secured with an approved lock.

Anyone know what is considered an approved lock, and where I can buy one?

thanks..

From years of varsity experience... Ulock is the only one that kept your bike put... You need a serious jack or grinder to get through it. These little cable jobbies are useless!

There's a nice Youtube video about opening a U-lock with a Bic pen ... although it's easier to just take the two wheels.

But no, sorry, no answer to the question either.

These were recalled. The bad batch was back in 2006/7.

Bought a thick *********** of a cable and padlock combo from Yale. Also includes a fitting that bolt into the floor/wall to secure your stuff. 3M cable, mounting, lock and 4 small padlocks was R499.

Ask your insurance company to recommend an approved lock! If anything goes wrong your covered.

Learn how to loop the cable through your bike, very important. Especially to secure the wheel. Lots of youtube videos.

Doubt a bad batch, it was a lock design that has since been replaced on all quality locks. Its those stupid cylinder keys.

Even our cheap safe at home can be opened with a ball pen.

Bad choice of words on my part. Faulty design.
