So I’m pretty sure EVERYONE thinks about upgrading their steel bikes to alu and alu to carbon and carbon to more carbon haha. But my problem is I have a Felt F85 and I really love my bike ALOT and I think it looks pretty sexy as well! But I want to upgrade so badly and it consumes my every thought!! It’s actually quite bad haha! How does one cope with this problem!?! I most definitely don’t think I’m good enough to get a carbon frame, I mean I beat a lot of athletes with sick bikes but what justifies getting a new bike? Share your experiences and upgrades! Post some pictures of your beauties!

So you actually have to beat some of the other riders to upgrade. !!!

Oops!

well yes, you cant just upgrade without a good reason.. if you dont deserve it you dont get it!

Give yourself a goal, be It a specific time in a race, a level of fitness or just hitting your goal weight. Something to work towards that in your mind '' justifies '' your upgrade. Only you can decide when based on your personal impression you've '' outgrown '' your current bike. For me, I opted to work on my '' engine '' first, so spent money on solid training tools like a good HR monitor. This was part of my plan in terms of achieving certain goals that I set myself. Once achieved, I rewarded myself with a carbon steed.

Also imo, there is often too hype around the weight of carbon bikes, don't discount the road feel or comfort that they give. My 2 cents.
