Me and the missus are heading to Knysna for the coming long weekend ad we're taking the kids (our bikes) along.

Where would the best riding be done there? Looking for trail riding, not insane DH runs and also not 50km of gravel roads. Just good ol fashioned trails.

Some tips?

Thanks.

We went a month or so ago and it was really good.

Any of the Harkerville trails are brilliant. Riding through indiginous plantations, etc. There are various routes for varying skill levels. Also try Homtini, Petrus se brand.

Lovely trails out that side of the world. enjoy!!

Harkerville!! You have to ride the red route at least once while you are there!!

+1

There are other trails towards George and Sedgefield but have never ridden them

Harkerville and Petrus se Brand is very close to each other. You can take the N2 for 15Km to Garden of Eden Nature Office and obtain a day permit there( That's in Plett direction)

You can also take the 7 Passes road at the Rheenendal turnoff just west of Knysna. Go up Phantom Pass and follow the road until you get to Farleigh forest station . This is the start of the Farleigh single track(amazing)

If you go a liitle bit further you get to Homtini trails( also very Good)

At the Cape Nature office in Thesen Island you can get a free map for al the trails.

Enjoy!

Res route will be ridden. Looking at a quick spin at Homtini too, time permitting ( goin with non-cycling friends so don't want to be too anti-social...)

Wrong approach - you should build a whole persona around being anti-social - otherwise get those uninitiated friends to start riding - if that fails you then have your anti-social persona to fall back on (or get new friends as a last resort).
