Hi All

Just starting out so need some advice on what shoes to buy. I'm looking to get shoes without cleats for now.

I have been looking at some hiking type shoes so any tips, recommendations would help. Saw these Merrell shoes for R699.

Thanks

Ha ha ha, at least you'll have a pair of nice shoes to braai in once you buy the real thing with cleats........No, all jokes aside, I like Merrells, they are solid and comfortable.

I've heard good things about Merrell shoes on a good flat pedal.

Well worth a try.

I am currently running an old pair of Merrel Chamelions with CB 50/50's on my DH bike and haven't slipped a pedal yet. My 5-10's will be here Monday though...

You could also buy a set of MTB shoes that have provision for cleats, but rubber over the cleat holes - so you can use flats with them initially. Might save you some cash over the medium term.

Check with your local bike shop.

Cool, thanks guys.

Doing some research now on 5-10 shoes, the HellCat model seems descent as it has option to ride clipless and flat.

Where did you order your shoes from? I looked at CRC but don't want to order wrong size before trying a pair on.

Sizing was discussed on the Hub but I think they are comparable to your trainer and skate shoe sizes. My Impacts are fine size wise and I went same size as my running shoes
