Selling a cracked carbon frame

Hi all,

 

I have a 29" Gary Fisher frame that I am looking to sell if anyone would be interested.

It has a crack on the top tube that I have been told is an easy fix.

I was quoted R1200 for a full repair excluding paintwork.

 

What would you think is a reasonable price be?

To be honest I'm not sure what a fair price would be.

what would it go for if in good nic, id then knock off say 30 or 40%.

thats fair as it makes the risk worth while

From what I can see an undamaged frame like this is around the R 7k plus mark.

What do you guys think.

 

I really would like to know what people would think is reasonable for this.

I would think around R1500 would be fair as the risk remains even after the repair.

Personally I wouldn't pay anything for a cracked frame. I know that they are repairable, but who knows what other hidden damage that has eminated from the "blow" that caused it to crack.

 

Its like a car, nobody wants a car that has been repaired after a bad accident

The frame is still available,

I have one offer that I am interested in.

 

Need to take some detailed pics of the frame and load them up.

 

The frame was cracked on the top tube due to being tightened too much onto a rack.

To be brutally honest, the frame is worthless. Have it fixed and do an SS conversion or something.

I was going to fix and build up the bike for fun but have decided to try fix up my race bike a bit more.

 

If it doesn't go for anything worthwhile I will keep the frame and eventually build it up.
