WorcesterWheelers Posted April 6, 2006 Share I am looking at the bmc......bike porn I tell ya What size BMC?There's a guy in Cape Town, that's been desperate to sell his since winning it in last years TdF competition.I think it's a size 56, and he's come down to about R30,000 with Mavic Ksyrium SL's and Campy Record. Laffite Posted April 6, 2006 Share Hi.

stringbean Posted April 7, 2006 Share Checked with my local cervelo dealer, seems like the prices quoted on the web are excluding vat.C3 still a great bike but doesn't seem to be put together as well as the specialized.I would go with Spez and save a few grand. [img']smileys/smiley32.gif[/img]smileys/smiley32.gif Interesting info Worchester. Where did it come from?I think of the current frames, The BMC SLC would compare well with the Cervelo R3 as far as BB stifness goes.I would guess the integrated seatpost Giant won't be much more stiff than the previous one. Lateral stiffness is very dependant on down tube, bottom part of the seat tube and chainstay design, and their interface at the bb.My opinion on the Cervelo's: Great to see a new company making waves in the bike business. The R3 is not a pretty frame imo. The square down tube, oversize chain stays and tiny seat stays borders on ugly! I prefer the looks of the Soloist carbon. The Giant frame is a beaty, and the integrated seat tube looks very nice. The LBS said that they can't get Cervelo frames, there is some problem getting stock. So if are set on getting one, perhaps you'll need some patience? Christie38817.3752430556

But the stats, testing is from some other Bike mag that did all the independant testing.Ja, must agree, on looks the Giant wins hands down, altough I think the tiny seatstays on the R3 looks cool. I also don't like all the Red on the Cervelo. Now if only they bring it out in the Blue version like they did with the R2.5 Bayone...But I'm in no rush, like I mentioned earlear. Before I can justify a new frame, I have to get my @ss into shape. Guess its time to call in CvanC's help. He apparently know the secret to success......smileys/smiley2.gif
Christie Posted April 10, 2006 Share Well, a new bike as a reward for losing 5kg sounds like great motivation.
