By the sounds of it P.A.K doesn't have insurance and is trying to get the taxi owners insurance to pay up.

Take the taxi owner to the small claims court, bit of a mission but that might help you get the money out of him.

That's correct. Thanks for the advice. I'll rather see if I can have it fixed up for cheaper myself than having to go to SC court. But thanks for the suggestion

Forgive my critical eye, but I dont see any lights or reflectors on your bike and in the pitcure it seems to be quite dark still...

Happy you are okay, but how was your visibility? And could this have been avoided by being more visible?

Go read through the first page again. Not his fault, wrong place wrong time

Second pic is actually the first. Sun rose quickly after that and then I snapped the one of the front of the taxi. Light was on helmet.

Eye forgiven. I did have reflective clothing on too. But I'm definitely adding high-viz and flickering lights to my bike after this

How did you recognize the place from those crappy pics?

It's just around the corner from my house, I live 100m from that house and drive past that house on my way to work and back. One morning I saw the fence was moertoe and wondered what had happened.

Doesn't matter if you make yourself look like a Christmas tree - it's the taxi'e speed that caused this

Glad you are OK

Thank you. But I'll rather not exploit the good hearted Hubbers

I believe I'll be able to get the bike in working order for under R1,000 so I'll be able to do that.

It hasn't been fixed yet because I've been told the assessor still wants to see the bike. But I guess I can write that on my stomach. So much for being optimistic.

Thanks again guys.

It just feels so unfair. I feel he must take some sort of responsibility. Its more about the principal of the thing than the money now. Makes me very angry, but its not worth getting worked up

Shoot me for this..

No visible light on the back of your bike, those thingys start at R50,

Driving like that is not ayoba,, what if he or anyone else smashed into you and rolled a vechile because they couldnt see you?

This fall in the same category as driving without lights on the road.

If you did hower have a proper warning light showing backwards i pull my words back

Sorry, misunderstood then. Thought he had insurance since claiming excess was mentioned.
