Hi fellow hubbers,

If this is the wrong forum then please advise which one I should be checking out.

I have been riding for almost 1 year now. Absolutely enjoying everything about MTB and been doing lotsv bedtime reading. However, I have two questions..

1.) I like climbs just as much as I like descents(trail/singletrack that is), I just did my first MTB race with a few buddies who absolutely loved the event. I placed first outv our group of 5 okes. 38km... But didn't enjoy the event as much as my buds cz the race had like 75% ascents and 10% descents(jeep track) and 5% singletrack. Are there any events where I can get 50% climbs 50% trails...?

2.) I like Gspot! Its has all the drops, berm rides, climbs, switchbacks, roots, flow and jumps that I need. But its a little short for me. Are there any other places like Gspot here is CT

I would like to think I enjoy AM riding, are there any events in CT that caters for this genre of MTB?

Eden(Just across from G-spot)used to be good, with atleast 4 trails running top to bottom, but felling of trees makes it bit tough there at the moment. Had some nice Rockgardens on the old DH track after the patch-up

Jonkers also long Singletrack and a DH

haven't seen any roots or drops in G-spot though, the builder(singular) keeps it ultra smooth

ride with someone more experienced. Best way to learn.

Always a bunch of us out at Tokai. Cpt Mayhem/ Omega Man/ Pain or Shine will be a good goto, so contact them and they'll get you in touch with others.

where are you at btw? if u want some nice easy2ride velvet, go ride majik. Very nice loop for you to do adnauseum with a little bit of everything on teh descents: flat corners for cornering practice, little jumps and drops and you can go as fast you can handle. Rinse repeat.

Tokai has more variety and fit for all skill levels, but can intimidating for some. Majik is as sedate as it gets.

There's your ticket. No amount of explaining will ever get close to riding with guys who can do what you'd like to do. You will learn in heaps and bounds by following another rider.

Could not agree more....I need to do more of this, but the few rides I have had with more experienced riders had me doing things I would not have attempted had I not been with them..........(for me it was being led through Vasbyt at Tokai having never gone down there and wondering how I survived coming out the other end)
