steve61 Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Anyone know why the 56km Crater Cruise has been replaced by a 40km? Also entries are priced strangely - R250 for 102km Marathon but R200 for the 40km.

scotty Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 The 56km was more a roadie off road route, the 40km has been promised as a proper MTB route.
Gen Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Don't know how many are aware, but still no rain in this area, so whatever you ride over that weekend it's going to be dusty and probably windy.

eddy Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 My wife is away that weekend so for me it will be the long one on Saturday (on Duel Suss) and the 40 on Sunday as my first SS race.  Two years ago I was in the start chute of the long one with Wyatt E and the reigning National SS champion, both on their Single speeds. That was the last I saw of them as they shot off when the gun went. Not carrying derraileurs, gears and shifters obviously makes the bike much faster so I thought I'd give it a bash... :whistling:
