I am looking for opinions on the following situation. I purchased a 150mm travell am bike in November 2012 I ride only in Tokai mainly on the downhill trail but only doing the smaller jumps .In March 2013 the left chainstay snapped where the rear brake bracket is welded on. This was replaced by the dealer under warranty In july the replaced chainstay cracked in the same place now the dealer has informed me that the factory will not replace it as I must be riding the bike beyond its capabilities .

I would like opinions on the above situation I cannot name dealer and make yet as this is still a legal matter

Can you maybe post a detailed explanation from their side, did you write them a email or did you speak to them on the telephone?

If you haven't done anything outside of what would be covered by your frame warranty, then stick to your guns and insist that they honour that warranty. The exact wording of that warranty is what determines the outcome.

have they actually tested or inspected the frame?

do a google search and see if the same frame you are riding has shown to be a typical failure issue.

If you honestly know that you have not abused the bike then make a MOERSE noise!

Would love to see how they try and justify this. Good luck.

Dude, if it was a cross country bike I'd see there point....

If I was buying a 150mm AM bike nothing should really be beyond it's capabilities.... That's why we pay extra for ALL MOUNTAIN tags....
