And where is this coming from? Just from this 4 pages there were numerous complaints about the same problem with CWC and lots of praise for Evobikes.

Copperhead shamelessly punts another online store on a forum that is discussing a competitor. All I am saying is that they all have their shortcomings. I can deal with CWC's shortcoming ito stock management better than getting into my car, spending my lunch hour to collect something and get to what looks like a little backyard business with no one to assist me.

CRC have never disappointed me. Prices are great. With people like them we don't need South African online shops to mess around with our funds and give us poor service! I wanted to buy a pair of Sidi Shoes from CWC a few months ago, as it came I really had to ask for a discount because my current Bontrager Shoes' cleat got stripped into the sole and it was literally an emergency purchase. I as for 5% discount (diss me if you like, but that is what I could afford) and they did not want to help me, they said NO. (Before I went in I called them and explained my situation and they said, come in we can talk... :huh: I kid you not, the very next day I see they have the exact same pair on special for more than 10% less! WTF!!!! I called them and NO ONE recalls me being there, not even the shifting I spoke to... So, I go online, order it from CRC and save more than R 2000! F them is this is how they treat us. The oke asked me if I have such a big problem, why do I not just come back today..... I am 150km away from them, but that's not the point!!!

 

I would rather spend my money on porn than support them!

I'd just like to thank CWC on-line for their prompt service...

 

I placed an order at 15:00 YESTERDAY for 5 random items...all were in stock and my parcel was delivered TODAY around lunch time!

 

Great service....I'll make use of you again!! (I'm sitting in mmy office not *00m away from a physical LBS...) :thumbup: :thumbup: :thumbup:

Just to make things clear, I did tell the guy who assisted me via e-mail that I was not happy with so many things being advertised and then not available. So I did not just take it to the web without first letting them know that I wasn't happy.

 

Also, I will complain in the same way with any LBS. Bad service is bad service, period. And without the consumers feedback (via complaints in this case) these businesses would never improve, as they would assume that the status quo is acceptable.

 

I will collect tomorrow and then discuss it with them a little further. Just to state further that I will shop at CWC again, as I believe they are a good, well run, local business which deserves our support.

I ordered a XON carbon seatpost last weekend(probably the last one they had :)

It was delivered in Jhb as promised.I went on again on Tuesday and noted the item was taken of..so website was basically updated.

My first order on CWC,and must admit, I am a happy camper!

I had the exact same experience: Two orders, no stock & waited 1 week after numerous calls to get my money back. Worst was, it wasn't even sale items.

I've been in the same boat a while ago.Needed some chainrings,went online with CWC and saw they had them in stock.Drove there because it was urgent ,asked behind the counter for said chainrings.Salesman goes on computer and says no problem we got them in stock,let me get them,only to be told by another salesman,sorry don't have those chainrings.Havnt had for 2 weeks.

Evobikes is all I can say.Second point,don't advertise anything at a Great price if its not in stock.Might as well as say " for free".

+1 for Evo bikes, bought slx brakes from them. they had no stock, after waiting 2 weeks they sent me the xt equivalent.

Evobikes is a on-line store have it delivered :whistling: As long as the price and service is good they can work from there car. I would rather pay less and get service than say I buy from a shop with a shop with a nice shop front.

Its only cheaper if they offer free delivery or if you are able to collect it at their premises. On that front CWC kicks most online shops arses all the way. :whistling: :whistling:

Every item I have wanted has been cheaper at Evo Bikes. But you keep shamelessly punting that other shop!

please peovide a link to a rant about Evo bikes where I have punted CWC. You seem to punt Evo by default every time someone rants about another retailer and you dont like to hear it when people tell others that Evo have many things they need to work on (as does CWC). Fact remains that you brought Evo into a discussion that had nothing to do with them, so be prepared that people out there may have had a bad experience there.

Inventory tracking is a basic ecommerce feature. Sounds like they need to talk to their web developer, or maybe there is poor planning issue with stock being depleted via another sales channel that does not update the online inventory.

 

Either way, I don't think it's a direct reflection on the high standard of customer service at CWC, probably just a technical or business planning problem to be resolved.

The system should be set up to a point that you place your order and only once stock is checked you get the link and invoice to make payment. that way no stock no payment no refunds.

 

the only thing is that we would have to wait an extra day to egt our goods. i dont mind waiting an extra day.

my last two online orders with other companies have both been no stock after there was stock shown.

Over R1000 is free delivery ..... not much you buy under a R1000 these day. I'm not promoting Evo I'm just saying it works for me I also collect there but I don't have a problem with there shop. I still get good service there.

No link. Correct. Please provide a link to where they have ranted about Evo!!

Its like comparing Toyota to Geely. There are 10000x more Toyotas on the road compared to Geely's. I for one did not care enough to start a fred about EVO as I would not use them or recommend them.

As of late there have been an increasing number of Rants about CWC. AND IT ALWAYS SEEMS TO BE ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE. Agreed??

Recently there were 2 that I am aware of. One relating to a mis understanding wrt collection of an item in the Green Point store that was resolved (giving CWC some serious cred on thehub) and this one. I am also at times frustrated with their stock management for online sales and agree that they can improve here. They seemed to have sorted out the Green Point glitch and I am sure that Chris is following this fred to make sure that he addresses the issues.

We all have bad experiences that I will confirm. I was stating that I have only had excellent service from Evo Bikes. I can write what I feel on any subject in any forum. You can too. This is why it is called an open forum.

Then take it to the "Rave - EVO for the best online service" fred. I for one think that it is very primitive to simply "solve" a problem by suggesting a competitor.

I am not attacking anyone or any company just posting my experiences of the companies I have used and so are you. Seems you are one of the people who defends CWC to their grave and thinnks they are the be all and end all of bike shops.

Read post # 11 on this fred again.

For me it seems more and more people are turning against them and looking for alternative and better shopping experiences

and to me it seems like more people have built a sufficient relationship with them to communicate their frustrations to them. In the SA online shopping context they are probably a text book example of how to do it right. If I was lecturing 3rd year entrepreneurship at Stellenbosch I would definately have invited the Willemse combo to chat to my students.
