SwissVan Posted March 5, 2016 Share https://www.facebook.com/KiwiCrusade/Looks like a nice idea, although not well supported by the looks of it.Maybe the locals smelt a ratI wonder how expensive those entry fees (3600 - 2000 kiwi $) are for locals? eddy Posted March 5, 2016 Share https://www.facebook.com/KiwiCrusade/8 teams and 3 single entrants. Surely not enough to cover costs ? I wonder if there are going to be a few service providers struggling to get paid...... Ps, I should have entered in the Solo Category. I would have podium'd in the Elite Cat. Skylark Posted March 5, 2016 Share So the scammer is now in NZ and trying to work his magic, someone needs to start tweeting some of his previous tricks and direct the tweets at people in NZ who would be interested in knowing his scaly past, ie warn those people, people just like us who are trusting and vulnerable to scammers that prey on trust. Do it as a community service, just google his race and find people who would be on twitter, like the coffee shop, people discussing it, sponsors, service providers etc and start directing a stream of tweets their way. #darrylgovemustpay #darrylgovemustfall #scammersmustfall That's the beauty of our modern communications, on the internet sheet sticks like super glue, follows you everywhere and there ain't no hiding it unless you become a hermit or redeem yourself. Doooo eeeet!!!

intern Posted March 6, 2016 Share I've brought this information to the attention of a client I have in the bike industry in Whakatane. Would hate to have some scaly dude take advantage of people I know, that's not the sort of Safa who's welcome down these parts.2-3k entry fee is crazy expensive, not many people will be willing to pay that. They will rather pack off for a weekend in Rotorua for a fraction of the price.Road cycling Tour of Northland entry fee is $250 odd for 4 days, though you have to sort your own accommodation etc.

Wayne Potgieter Posted March 8, 2016 Share can anyone tell me what actually happened in south Africa? like hard details? cos i know of him in new zealandHey Josh. I would appreciate rather discussing this on BikeHub instead of facebook. As an active member here since 2008, I can tell you that Mr Gove's name is severely clouded within the south african cycling community. His list of alleged achievements include Ripping off "Pornstar"(his hubname) for R15,000 to R20,000 in a mutual business venture. Also "Bondiblu" worked for the guy for many months and is still waiting for her pay. " Mr Gove then went on to start a cycling magazine and took a whole lot of peoples money to subscribe but never actually delivered on the magazine. So he owes plenty people there. He had some involvement in a cycling widow trust that is also clouded with lies and deception. Basically, from the above reports, it seems Mr Gove is a somewhat unscrupulous individual lacking in a moral conscience. I see that you did the photography for his New Zealand event. I would caution you to tread very carefully with Mr Gove in your business dealings with him as his track record appears to be terrible. Please understand and as per my Facebook reply to your message, i do not know Mr Gove personally. I only know of his antics as they have been represented here within this community. But you know what they say bud...."Where there is smoke...." EDIT : SPELLING

tonks Posted March 8, 2016 Share they were told there was $100,000 in prize money and all the money from the event would be spent locally.http://www.nzherald.co.nz/bay-of-plenty-times/news/article.cfm?c_id=1503343&objectid=11597518 http://www.nzherald.co.nz/bay-of-plenty-times/news/article.cfm?c_id=1503343&objectid=11594847 A couple of days before the event started they were told there was no longer any prize money because the Tauranga Council had pulled the pin. Apparently only three teams actually paid for the entry, where the others were invited or won entries that were 'sponsored' at other events. The teams that paid are requesting refunds. Due to the low numbers and the quality of good bastards that did the event they actually did have a fun time however.
gmaw Posted March 8, 2016 Share To add, of the $100,000 prize money promised, as far I understand there was zero given out. No prizes whatsoever. On top of this, in December, the KiwiCrusade facebook page stated they had received two Suunto Ambit3 GPS watches courtesy of SuuntoNZ and Bivouac to give out as prizes. No one received these. There is a photo of Daryl wearing a Suunto watch though...
