Street/trials build

Going to build myself a street bike again, but not looking for chromo/steel DJ type build, but rather something lighter.

Thinking of a inspired element frame from tartybikes, finished off spares I still have laying around. Also thinking of popping a RS Revelation in-front, with adjustable travel to 115mm

Are there other shops which sells similar type bikes? Should not be full on trials, as I still like to have a seatpost

Hey, that setup should work. Might just be a bit heavy on the back wheel. Tarty is still the cheapest on the street frames, and if you have the cash you can't go wrong with Inspired!!!

Just another question, for the front chainring, would I use the smallring (inner ring) chainring and put the bashguard on the outer ring bolts?

Using either a saint or SlX crank, but think my saint crank is a single chainring crank.

The Voodoos also seem pretty cool. I saw them in a bucnh of tutorials like this one

In general though, it sounds like you're looking for a similar setup to Leech's

Been doing some research and found few other options. Does anyone have experience buying from China and the east? even better know of some shops, or know the ones I linked. Mind set on 24", and in the eastern shops they have some sweet deals, but when it comes to that side of the world, I have no experience.

These guys seems to get decent ratings:

The other:

  • 3 weeks later...

Hi Braai, I don't know of anyone that has imported bikes from the East. But I have imported a few RC parts from various eastern countries without any issues.

With regards to the pics above:

1) Compare the geometry to that of a known brand like Inspired

2) Check the weight, the cheaper bikes tend to weigh a lot!!!!

3) Check components.

Just remember that a cheap bike is awesome to learn on but you will be upgrading in the future!!!

Thanks, joined a while ago, got hold of someone on the page that might be bringing bikes in towards the end of the year on there, looks like I might get my Czar street trials, but need to get the money first...
