Raoul2025 Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 HI On the day we met Zane, she was SIX months pregnant and just kicked our butts up that mountain.We have been training all winter so when she got here in Dec we where hoping to have some chance against her up the slope.We know that the chance was remote so we were planning ambush tactics to distract her, hoping that one of us would be able to get away from her. But its not to be, so now we ride with her memory and we are thankfull for those she gave us. A very very special person who was always cheerfull, a loving wife and mom.Our thought go to Paul and the girls who have been left with a void that is not going to be filled.

Very very sad...she leaves her husband and 2 kids behind...she is actually a MTB rider and borrowed a road bike for the day to train with a friend... Got hit from behind by a Polo and broke her back in 2 places and bleeding on the brain... Condolences to the family...RIP fellow cyclist The report is in Afrikaans... Tubehunter Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 The news report mentioned the driver was never arrested and her statement was included in a case file that was sent to the public prosecutor for a decision. Did a decision ever take place or did it just go quiet??? How does stuff like this escape the law????

The investigation officer phoned him about a week ago. They are busy investigating if she was treated in time. If it is clear that there were no time delayes in getting her to hospital and to propper treatment in time that might have caused her death, they will proceed with driver's case. However we still mourn her death and seeing her small children, all her photos and happy smiles last night brought tears to my eyes. Her oldest daughter is turning 4 this weekend. Keep safe on the roads and choose wise times and routes to keep alive!
