To all those who I have seen over the last 3 weeks..

I have spent the last 3 weeks doing a roadshow in the major centers around the country. Not being able to take the bike, i have resorted to the next best thing - running.

Sea point to Camps bay and back, Ushaka to Moses Mobida and back, Summerstrand to Kings beach and back.

 

I can honestly say that you buggers who live close to the waters edge have got it nice. Morning rides along routes like this are true bliss and i hope you realize what you have going and take as much advantage as you can. How can you NOT want to ride/run/walk/swim when you have this at your disposal

 

I hope you value it for everything its worth and count your self lucky

Yeah we are very lucky. I am really thankful for living in Cape Town. I've been all around the country and even though this country of ours is spectacularly beautiful, there's no place like home for me.

If you need a location to make a life, it says little about your life. I love the coast. I would love to live at the coast. I love forests. I would love to live in one. That I don't doesn't make me not have a life.

I really appreciate the lifestyle I have in Durban. Most days I am out of the office by 4:30, which is unheard of for all my friends in Jhb in my field. On my commute days I ride along the Umgeni River and then along the Durban beach promenade before cutting into the Durban CBD to get to my office. And the ride home is just as enjoyable. Coming out of the office car park on a bike feels amazing, knowing that I will be catching the sunset over the river on my way home.

Plus in Winter we still ride/run /swim in 15 degrees plus most of the time. If less than that we get really grumpy and have to put on arm warmers.
