abcdefg Posted November 28, 2013 Share Hi Guys From the list below which is the best option:Trek 3500Axis A90AVALANCHE ATX
HairyLegs Posted November 28, 2013 Share Drop the Avalanche. So between the Trek and Axis, I would go with the Trek. Personally I would get a bike that has disc brakes. What is your budget.

BrandonF_ Posted November 28, 2013 Share I'm sorry, maybe its just the synical thinking in my mind, or my marketing brainwashed mind, but there are sooo many of these "member for a few days", "what's the best buy" topics floating around the Hub, are you guys for real or just some market survey "let's see what the masses say" kinda researchers? abcdefg Posted November 29, 2013 Share Brandon, perhaps create a new topic asking that question... The rant and rave section? Also this is the QnA section, so my question is the exact reason the forum has this section.

abcdefg Posted November 29, 2013 Share I would not buy any of them whats your budget? This disappointing, well these bikes are around R2500.I was thinking that I wanted a bike to cycle around to get my fitness up to scratch before I tackle anything hectic. Can you upgrade components? Like putting disk brakes later?
T-Bag68 Posted November 29, 2013 Share I agree with above comment, I wouldn't buy any.... If its to cruise to work and back, far enough.... but if I want to start enjoying the beautie of cycling, hitting trails, I would save a few more Randela's , something that would be a little more reliable and good stopping power, something you can enjoy for a few years to come.... The only two good uses for a cheap frame is conversion to single speed and use as a farm gate. Push your budget to R6000-R10000. If the rand was not so weak I would recommend that you look at CRC and on-one for a bike. Like putting disk brakes later? It would cost more than the bike to upgrade brakes, new hubs to take disc's, the build of them....then the disc brakes.... your looking at R1500 and up to start getting good brakes . good idea to get fit, but then you will see you have wasted money, because you will be selling to get better.... Mags vd walt Posted November 29, 2013 Share My wife took my old axis a70 over, all I changed on it was brakes and fork, its +-15kg with coil fork put my fox air fork in and got it down to 15.5kg.. I don't see anyting wrong with a cheap bike like the axis.
Matts 300 Posted November 29, 2013 Share There are two nice bikes in the classifieds at the moment. The gaint and the bulls bikes, maybe save a couple more randellas and buy something that would last.
