I think you'll be somewhat pleasantly surprised.

Yeah, I was told today I have to come. Staying at De Zalze for the weekend, but its supposed to be a drinking/ party weekend, so I guess I'll be the sober one

I REALLY need to go ride there some day! Is there a map of the trails available to find all these gems or do you need to hook up with locals to show you around?? Are all the trails running from the top down, or is it circular routes?

iRideAfrica map is complete but will be easier to ride with someone that knows the place.

True, you need to be motivated, no way I would be passing engineering if I came straight out of school.

1st year and most of 2nd year is the same, thus he can look which one suits him best. I ended up going Industrial, lots of opportunities in all fields of engineering, so you wont be limited.

And back to topic, as per request: Some of my "off" mornings from class

Ja, I agree. we were looking for never ending story and ended up on the dh track :-) Well almost, we knew we weren't on NES, because we hadnt climbed enough and weren't far enough North.

The place is big and demands a few visits to ride all the trails properly...

Just got back from my ride there this morning. It was wet wet wet! That place turns up a notch in the scary scale when it rains. Especially WP Downhill and the top level of Canaries (the very rocky one). But what fun!

Some pics of the climb to the top (who has time for pictures on the way down!).

Nico, it is not easy to find...entry point is kind of on the highest fireroad below the last climb to the saaltjie, where those shots of your Spez were taken. You need look carefully. Very...

Quite an exposed run too, even more so than the top Canaries, with their rocks and things.

Ok well then I probably rode right passed it. Will be there on Saturday for the test the best day. Will go and scout for it again, but will prioritize some runs on the firehut trail. After 7 visits to Jonkers to JOnkers this year I still haven't hit it.

Jeeeeez guys, you are so privileged to have so much awesome riding areas. Here in Bloem I am starting to scout every koppie to check if I can blast down the thing. I will definitely travel more with my bike to places like Jonkershoek in 2014! Less partying, more saving and riding!
