I am 1.9m and riding a XL 29er, I can't see myself on a 27.5... If you are short go 27.5 you won't make a mistake, but if you are as tall as I am I would consider 29er.

I own all 3. Without trying to spoil your plans. The 29er is just different to me. but please take note Im 1.75m. Test ride each bike first. It is worth the effort

I'll do that, thanks.

Can you hire 29er's at groenkloof? I know at cycle lab fourways they have a test track but that makes me nervous because all the staff stares at you while you ride

Ignore them, they are jealous

All jokes aside. Ride each one. Find your poison. The pro girls are tiny, most of them are on 29ers.

Its personal choice.

Just remember. You have to ride it

Enjoy!

That sounds like the best advice so far. Thanks a lot

Yes you can, they have some Spez.

Although I have never ridden a 29er, I now have 2 x 650b and loving them, I am 172cm. Use them for marathons / events and have a 26" AM for snappy messing around at Groenies etc, also ride a 26" mtb pavement warrior just about every day for transport and training.

Your wheel size should be determined more by the type of riding you want to do, not your height.

That is not the big companies are saying.

And being tall I feel lots more comfortable on 29er

Lots of companies recommend 27.5 up to 6" the 29er
