Well done to all participants in Sunday's Audax events.

47 riders started on the 200km event. 10 of these were line entries. This is one of the best turnouts for a Winter Audax for some time, with a range of A to D group riders.

The roads were super quiet. I counted only a handful of cars between Nigel and Greylingstad. It really is a pleasure to ride at speed, on good, quiet roads, in a bunch over decent distances like this.

Maximum respect to Eddie for putting together these awesome events.

Nice riding with you for a bit, Underachiever. That was some display of power riding!

Crasher, our group of stragglers made good time into Greylingstad. Hope to see you guys again soon.

Hey Speedy

Was good to see u again. Doing a 200 km Audax after the 100 km race on Saturday. Kudos!!!

Was an excellent training ride, but the stretch from Greyling back to Devon was really hard. Luckily the last bit back to Nigel was way better than last year!! See u in Benoni in June.

Forgot to turn right onto R548 so ended up lost and on the road to Delmas turned around and somehow ended up back in Nigel with only 170kms done so right balls up.

Riding for 50 kms from Balfour into that wind with just the 2 of us was interesting and good workout for the legs but not that enjoyable

See you guys in June

Was indeed a very nice day,I was lucky enough to meet underachiever at the start by chance.but did not meet you speedracer...hopefully at another ride...the wind on the stretch back to Devan was horrible and with just 3 people in my bunch was hard work.but enjoyable none the less.

Sorry to hear about you getting lost. You must've missed the R548 and stayed on the R51 back into Nigel. Quite a steep climb before dropping into Nigel as I recall. Great to see you again, and hope to see you at the next one.

Tough day all round. Hope to meet you at the next one!

Managed to sneak the bike into my luggage on UK trip to visit family last weekend and do a very nice Audax 400 whilst there. Few pics here:

Very pleasant ride - UK audaxes seem to find some of the most stunning scenery and villages, not to mention the number of good cake shops they pass by!

Lovely pics, Rob. What was your total ascent on this ride?

Deliberately chose it as a flatter 400 - get some riding confidence back. I think it was around 1,900m. It turned out more challenging than the number suggests. A lot of short sharp ups and downs, even though not actual climbs after 414km the rollers sapped the legs.

Good job! That's a long way.

Tayyib, thanks alot mate.

Got dropped just out of Greyling and basically rode all the way back to Nigel ace out. That stretch to Devon in the wind was hectic by myself, but from Devon to Nigel was awesome.

Nice meeting you all

The next event in The Series That Never Ends takes place on Sunday 22nd June 2014 from Pro-Cycles in Benoni. As always, 100km and 200lm road events on offer. Entrance is a paltry R90 (pre-entry).

Tell your mates and Clubs. Last month saw 47 riders of varying ability (A to D pace groups). Let's make this one of the biggest!

Benoni - Heidelberg - Dasville - return

Eish, was planing to ride but I'm really scared of of the section on the R549 from Karan Beef to Heidelberg. I had some bad experiences on it before. May be it's different on a Sunday compared to a Saturday, but I'm still scared.
