Luke, you're a machine - solid TTing there, man.

results are up and it appears there are some discrepancies with the grouping of the bunches from the start - A & B started separately, but have been grouped together on the results sheets. Looks like C & D have been listed as B, etc....

Welcome back to racing LuckyLuke. Good to see you and your climbing friend make a impressive return to racing with a strong team again. Both of you had impressive rides today.

Thanks, yep John had a good ride today - Racetec has him in 5th - glad he has some form back.

I did miss the racing over the past year and a half - very happy to be back on the bike.

Not sure what results sheet you looking but but It shows A and B are seperate and not grouped together and C_D are together.

maybe I'm not putting it out there clearly. I started with the real B group - we were instructed to roll over the mats with the A group and then instructed to wait the 1-2 minutes after A was released at the start line - ppa marshalls evidently not communicating.

I was with the breakaway in B group - 4 of us broke away on smits (I finished 4th behind Nic Lamond who took the sprint)

The guys listed as B were in fact C-D group. Don't know how racetec is going to clear it all up - I've dropped them a mail in the meantime. Some poor bugger is going to have to go through the first 50 odd riders one by one - happy monday!

How can Racetec get it so wrong? Your time is triggered as you cross the mat and stops when you cross it at the end. Is that not what a transponder does, or am I missing something?

My mate was in the break-away group the crossed the line first. He knows he was third, but his time is only the 20th fastest!

Are Racetec activating transponders in another way , other than physically crossing the timing mat?

Seems ludicrous that a timing system gets it wrong almost every time it's used! Can it just be attributed to "human error"?

What was your mate's name in 3rd? Seems unlikely as the only result missing from the top 8 is Thornman's.

The results are wrong due to a kerfuffle between PPA and Racetec at the start, sending riders across the mats in a disorganised fashion - there was lots of grumbling and eye-rolling going on.

judging by your avatar, I presume your mate was the fellow in table mountain bikers kit. If so he actually finished 2nd in our breakaway group from B - he was very strong - did a lot of work to ensure we stayed away.

Like Luke said, it was the marshalls letting the groups over the timing mats prematurely / holding up groups another marshall had let through at the start that made the error (no communication between the two) - we tried to explain the situation to the guy releasing the groups, but to no avail.

Pity for racetec, now they have to painstakingly fix someone else's error. Bummer.

Fun ride and a tough one for those with more of a sprinters frame than a mtn goat. Really a day that I wished I could be 10kgs lighter.

I always seem to end up TT-ing solo between bottom of Black hill and Cape Point in these rides but a great day to put the head down and motor. A decent leg loosener post chrimbo that's for sure.
