Esteni Posted January 13, 2014 Share I need some advice from the ladies please? I am currently riding with a Selle Italia Diva seat but my lady parts still go numb when riding for long times (3+ hours)... Any one with advice for me please? Rudi Pollard Posted January 13, 2014 Share My wife rides with a Specialized Ruby after she went for a fitting with them. She has been very happy with it. You need to go sit on thier 'ass-o-meter'in order to get the correct size seat as they make all their seats in 3 different sizes. Only then will you get one which will work with your specific body geometry...
Tjokkits Posted January 13, 2014 Share specialised saddles work the best, and believe me i have a garage full of saddles. even the mens at 155cm (they have diffirent sizes). find a specialised retailer who will have some trail saddles. i have been riding on 155cm avatar saddles many years they are quite comfy but they also have a couple of ladies specific ones
Uni Posted January 13, 2014 Share Hey there. I went through the same thing recently and I hijacked a thread and got some good pointers.check it out herehttps://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/132094-advice-needed-womans-mtb/page__hl__ladies?do=findComment&comment=2148783 I've been riding with the Specialized Arial saddle - I spend quite a bit of time on it not because I ride long rides but because I ride slow and so far the rear end is pretty happy. akneethling Posted January 13, 2014 Share See if you can get a loan/test specialized saddle. They pretty much have a saddle for everyone. Even their firmer saddles are more comfortable than some very plush ones.
Esteni Posted January 14, 2014 Share Thanks everyone!! I will go visit the Specialized concept store in Pretoria, and see what they suggest...
Gen Posted January 14, 2014 Share I use the specialized ladies specific windie XC. Just a small tip someone gave me that made a big difference too. Drop the front of the saddle just a couple of mm's 1cm at most. Can't believe the difference it made for me.
leona Posted January 14, 2014 Share can of worms.. everyones bums are different so its pretty impossible for someone to recommend a saddle i think. people always assume its the saddle thats wrong but it can be as simple as moving it forwards or backwards a tiny bit or even checking its level. test saddles are the way to go though no question. I've never used a womans specific saddle but have always used specialized. i find all of their saddles work for me but my preference is for the phenom which is what i have on all of my bikes. i see no one has mentioned it yet which just goes to prove what i said first off about recommending saddles! when i worked in bike shops id always ask people what it was about their saddle they found uncomfortable. from what you've said, if you had come to see me at the shop id be wanting to see how you were sitting on the saddle. if I'm looking at the right one (I've just googled it) then it looks to me to have quite a wide and cushioned nose. from what you say id wonder if the saddle was too far forwards for you so you were pushing yourself backwards and therefore putting too much pressure on your 'lady bits'. it could be (depending on what you have) that changing the seat post could be the solution.. may be you need layback if you have inline. i dunno, without seeing it its difficult to say and I've probably gone on a bit too much anyway... CleatsnCleavage Posted January 14, 2014 Share Yup, have to say the Specialized Women’s Body Geometry Jett saddle that was on the test bike I rode in an event last year was really comfortable. I might buy it for my new Scott.
