Sorry. I lied. Just checked again. 653m!

I did this one last year. Both my Garmin and my girlfriend's showed an elevation gain of around 900m. Not sure how accurate these devices are, but judging by my average speed on what was a relatively windless day, I definitely think the elevation is more than 650m.

Note: The Racetec average speeds are exaggerated, the distance covered was 101km - not 105km. I averaged 37.1km/h. Racetec has me doing 38.65km/h.

Either way, it's an awesome race. Very well organised, and no cars or trucks to worry about.

I really enjoyed this race last year. Coming from altitude the oxygen boost got me up the climb with the bunch and the descent is something! (bring ear plugs). Not to be missed.

I've heard good things about this race but never done it myself due to it overlapping the Panorama weekend. The fact that it's full road closure is a massive plus!

Also Panorama for us unfortunately....Panorama just to good to let it go

Would have liked to make a short holiday of it... but hey, why not!! I'm sure we'll manage a long weekend only...

I understand fully. My Argus has now become a 6 day Cape Town holiday with the wife!
