Hi, can anyone please assist.

I'm looking for someone in pretoria East that knows a thing or 2 about TT bike set-up (Road bike with Clip-on), but does not charge R700.00 for a set-up, and will be able to do so this coming Saterday?

Thanks

I suggest that you go about it in the right way, u might get someone who does not do a proper job and then u are out of R's and probably have an injury. Rather go see the guys at Cyclefit and make a day of it and spend the money.

I think Cyclelab is around R400

Cyclelab uses the system developed by Jeroen Swart maybe contact him and ask who knows their stuff in the area and negotiate....

Speaking of this, is there a general rule of thumb of TT vs. roadbike setup?

Saddle height the same or lower?

say your roadbike is 72.5 CM from BB to seat, is there some general rule to apply on TT setup?

looking at the TT position (and TT frames in general), I think the saddle position moves forward, lower handlebar, higher saddle height.

I've been experimenting with a Tri postion on my road bike (Spec Paris Roubaix) and recently moved my seat 10mm forwards without adjusting my seat height. Started getting sore just above both knee's. I then raised my seat height a few mm's +/- 3mm (sorry did not measure exactly how much) and the soreness went away.

It's important to get a tri specific saddle if you want a TT setup. This will make it possible to tilt your hips forward and stay comfortable.

It's not cheap, but the Adamo is tops.

For excellent personal setup, you can go to Troisport in Hurlingham, Sandton

Went to Cycle Lab in Pretoria - Lynnwood, for set-up, very very disappointing worst R450.00 ever spent, my personal opinion is that they had very very little knowledge about any form of bike set-up. Let me walk you through a set-up, measure your height, measure your hip, plug in a pc, set saddle, knee 30 degress......... and thats it. No checking of cleats etc. O ja and the check to see if your position no the TT bars are 110 degrees.

Sounds like they did just the basic initial set up but did not follow up with the more important actual analysis / adjustment after watching you riding the bike.

With reference to your post (the highlighted part), can you expand...sorry I don't follow what you mean.
