Headshot: unless you were placing in the top 10, no amount of pre-riding will make a difference to us remainder of the pack riders..... that i am afraid just boils down to the talent we have (or unfortunately don't have)

Besides, a wide spread of the field that ride DH know portions of the trails / the areas conditions, and it didn't make much of a difference. Its still going to be a similar top 10 result for most of the races because those guys are a cut above the rest

100% correct there! the difference comes in when someone on your level has ridden the trails before. That will give them the advantage above you.

Fair enough.

It would be quite difficult to have a truly blind course for everyone without handing out airline blindfolds before the start.

Anyways, here's to more events and more mates racing. Because at the end of the day...that is what its all about

(Can we put in a request for a bar at the start of SS1 to make sure we stay warm and focused...?)

Stocked with Kraken. So you can legitimately say "RELEASE THE KRAKEN!!!" when you cross the start line. Rum infused Enduro glory...

Hahahaha, now you talking. Not only will you not feel the cold, you probably won't feel much else on the way down.

Would it be considered performance enhancing...

Martin, Can we hear your heartbeat from your gopro?? Very cool!

For the 2nd time I hauled my Gopro along hoping to record some action and for the 2nd time it wouldn't turn on when I hauled it out for the stages. I'm pretty sure I charged it the night before, but the state that my sleepless daughter keeps me in has cast doubts on the state of my memory.

Yep, that's the HR you're hearing! The chesty mount is pretty cool in that way (or not, depending on whether you think it's cool that people hear how hyped you are, haha).

I've had a few runs in past where I was sure I'd switched it on, but it wasn't. They can be fiddly...

Will try to do an overall edit of the runs in the next day or so and post it here. An edit of very slow and generally cautious riding, that is :P
