Our supporters have had to pull out so I'm trying to find someone to drive our motorhome for epic. think I've got someone but need to find out what the going rate is for driving? has anyone done that before or used someone to do it?

thanks

Try look for a Physio who is for hire that week and willing to drive the van, that way you get a personal masseuse, driver and maybe even a cook...

EDIT: We did this a few years ago, but for the life of me cannot recall how much it cost us...we divided the cost between 4 (2 teams)

i didnt really want to post on the forum for a driver as its a huge risk taking someone who i don't know at all and trusting them with the motorhome. I'm sure it'd be fine but just too big of a risk. we have massage already paid for.. this driver thing is a real sudden last minute problem.

How about speaking to your LBS or any of the local bike shops? You may just find a young mechanic that would love to experience the race and then you have someone to give the bikes a once-over in the evening.

I've been fortunate that my wife enjoys going to the races so she drives the motorhome, cooks and makes sure the beer is cold. I've even trained her to do some basic bike stuff like replacing brake pads, cleaning chains and topping up sealant... and who said SWAMBO could not be trained

Enjoy the Epic!

He should be ok if you put grannies cushion on the seat so he could look over the dash, but the BIG question is do you think his feet will reach the pedals :whistling:

we have mechanic/massage already paid for. the driver has to be over 25 so young mechanic won't do unfortunately. its such a bummer, 2 supporters packages paid for too. was really looking forward to the whole thing with the people that were coming but nothing we can do about it.

Speak to the organisers. They always have people needing to get to the next overnight and you will not have to pay...

A mate of mine did it for 3 Epics.
