Hi guys,

Is there somebody with a training program that might help with the karoo2coast?

The problem is that the terrain i train at does not have any hills. Northern Cape is pretty much flat.

Any advice as to alternative training methods?

Cheers

Joe

  • 2 weeks later...

Does anyone have a lift for me and my bike from George to Uniondale on the morning of the race?

I'll pay for petrol.

Apologies. Brain fart from my side. I overlooked the ' indicating the imperial unit of measure as feet.

In my defence, I grew up in the metric era :)

Just call me Oom eddy, and you are forgiven Brian. ;-)

Ps. I was (also) looking at an aviation map. Perfect for us ou oomies, it is still in feet....

Last week I saw on the FB page that entries was already at 3600 out of 4000...

Decided I'd get my entry in before it is full. So I'm planning to be asking many questions here! :)

Will 20 km per week and 40 km over a weekend for 4 months be ok for training?

It "might" but it will hurt.....make sure that 40 is 30 km climbing on the weekend

If time for training is a problem, how can I best spend my time preparing for this? Would it be better doing longers distances (more time) or more steep inclines?
