......and now for a curve ball from the far left field of noobness.....is the rear derailleur hanger still straight. Experienced similar problems on my previous HT. Took everything apart, looked at everything, cleaned everything.....4 times. Ride will start fine but as it got longer the problems statrted. In the end the cause of everything was a bent (slightly) hanger.

Just a thought.....

Your chain, cassette and crankset should all talk to each other just fine if they have worn in together.

I would check:

Wear on the cassette, usually on 'favourite' cogs.

Wear on the chain.

For front chain - is it slipping off under power (which could be bent/missing teeth, or a bent chainring), or is it shifting off ? (which is a matter of setting the limit of the front der).

Shimano shifters and SRAM der not compatible, they use a different actuation ratio (basically how far the shift lever mover to make the der

You could also check:

Chain line.

Frame alignment (is it square and straight)

Bent hanger.

Hope this helps

Good luck

Ok perfect, thanks guys...

And would say an X7 Rear shifter work with an X9 RearD or must it be X9 matching an X9?

Not necessarily.....I have X9 shifters on XO derailleur......previous bike X5 shifters on X7

Thanks, where is the tab located so I can look for this?

I haven't noticed a big difference in tension when the clutch is activated very not.

The shop did measure for stretch and chain is still fine, I further measured it from center of pin to center of pin, it still measures 1" so nothing wrong there.

Chain just seems soft and flexible....

There should be a noticeable difference when the clutch is engaged or dis-engaged. Edited by Pusher

Thanks man, I will check what you mentioned.

Everything wore in together from new...

Its falling off when shifting, I had adjusted the limit screw but after about 20km of working perfectly it would fall off again.

I had adjusted the limit screw and so has the shop which is what has me confused at what could be causing this...

I doubt the frame would be able to be adjusted, its carbon but will ask shop to check.

I will check the hanger as well, but like I said kinda had that problem since day one with the bike, again bought brand new.

Seems the same chain slap amount to me and the shifting is no different...

The derailleur certainly does not have the same tension as what I remember any of my SRAM units I have had...

It is less than 3 months old, take it back to the shop you got it from and let them fix it. Why do you want to make it your problem

You mention problems with the front chainrings, the rear cassette as well as the jockey wheels with the chain coming off and jumping. I understand the issue with the front shifter and rear derailleur compatibility but is there not a chance that your chain might be damaged after all these issues and not worn?

OP this is the problem I was talking about - Shimano replaced

Thank you both, will have a look tonight...

I am also sure I will change the chain end of this month (Pay Day) and see if improvements...

But will have the shop checkout the hanger as well...

A general quick check for hanger.....remove from bike and put on flat surface. If there is a wobble, suspect damage. This is however just a general check. You however need a special tool that determines hanger's orientation with the rear wheel as reference.

Good luck.

Just an update..

I looked at the clutch last night, that tab is not broken.. I did however increase the tension and I can feel it more now... Will have to test...

I also remeasured the chain over a 12 inch distance and it measured 12-1/16" from center of pin to center of pin which means its done for...

Will get a new chain and take it from there to see how it goes in terms of the other problems I am having...

Once I have enough money I will swap shifter and rear derailleur out.

Thanks for all the help thus far.
