Do they have food at these points or just drinks? There was nothing to eat when we got there.

I don't know about food at the water points (aside from bananas, chocolates etc), but some of the spectator skottle braais were smelling really good en route.

I would have stopped by them if I were you.

was getting all excited to do it twice until I saw they wanted more money  my question is & I know a smart hubber here has the answer, what am I getting on the 2nd lap that I didn't already pay for on the 1st lap?

Short answer... Double.

You ask any service provider to give you something, you pay for it, you ask them to give you the service again but expect it to be free this time because they've provided you with the service previously?

I might not be the smart hubber you were looking for an answer from though.

Road closures are expensive. Medical support etc.

a discounted rate wouldn't hurt ??? i mean all the admin is already done , you have the same number and all they do is a put a colorful sticker on your existing number.

i mean a discounted rate should apply ..

Not a great first lap 3:06 after starting to cramp after nearly falling just before Ocean View. Continued to cramp until Smits on the second lap. Only caught my wife who started at 09:04, in Sun Valley and rode to the finish with her. Finished with a 5:17, stopping along the way, Guinness at the bottom of Chappies etc

Although the first lap was very disappointing, the second lap more than made up for it. Awesome vibe, great people, nice to just ride the bike and take it easy.

Definitely want to do it twice again next year!

you obviously didn't understand what I asked maybe read it again...slowly :-)

We rode on a safe, closed course, with full access to all the safety, support and other amenities the Trust offers every entrant. Our second entry went through similar processes to make it happen (I suspect it cost more to process second-lappers than regular entries, as there was/is no system in place to manage automatically).

So, let's turn your question on its head: Why shouldn't they charge for lap two?
