Did anybody see the Top Gear episode last night about bikes? Very funny and typically Clarkson. The reactions of the execs to whom they were presenting the "awareness adverts" were priceless.

I wonder what his real opinion is of bikes? Can he be so intolerant?

On a more relevant note, I walked along Sea Point main road on Sunday afternoon and was stunned to see how many Argus riders were riding along 3 or more abreast chatting amongst themselves. I understand the warm fuzzy feeling of completing the race but in light of developments, are they that uncaring that they still ride around like that? Cars had to almost stop to get around them.

Man, we have a long way to go.

I stayed on for a couple of days in Cape Town and was surprised to see how many cyclists ride around without wearing helmets.

when I was riding home after the Argus......there was a guy wearing one of those PPS 1.5m awareness jerseys and promptly rolled through a red light (4 way intersection)

so typical, some people want motorists to respect them but they in turn don't respect the road.....

Seen lots of euros riding their road / mountain bikes and carrying their helmets over the front of the handle bars...typically when its a long uphill or hot...always smile and laugh when I see it. They probably think I'm being friendly :whistling:
