and then you see what happened to Cascades yesterday afternoon - it lived up to its name!

The steel bridge from Virgin is partly washed away ...

The tar in the parking area where the pics are taken is no longer - was swept away as rafts of tar ...

The trials section is also no longer!

Fooken 'ell!

Well at least the DH track will have become a bit rougher... Perhaps too rough for trail bikes? :whistling:

Hope there is something left of the Trials section, a few guys from Gauteng were planning on coming down to ride over the Provincial champs long weekend.

I saw Max Cluer's pic he posted on twitter yesterday

@Nige, how did that affect all the work that has gone into the WC track or is it too soon to tell?

Work??? What work? we only starting today pretty much ...

But it will hopefully have roughed up some sections with a couple of rain ruts. hahahaha

Going down there this PM to check it out

I absolutely love Cascades!!!! as a XC rider, it is flipping insane. Watching the nationals on saturday and then trying to ride it myself, I only have the highest respect for even the kids riding the same course. Crazy technical and with some insane climbs.

Downhill track was great, although didnt ride it, followed it right up to the start and then back down again while trying to get a few photos.

Have to commend the guys who put in the work, and i feel so spoiled riding there now, CPT trails arent even nearly as good.

Karkloof was absolutely insane!!!! more single track than anything else.

Managed to grab a picture of Greg clearing a gap jump higher up on the course, we found this section purely by chance and it paid off a few minutes later with this shot:

Cool, that's lovingly known as Jugg's Big One. The 10 year old kid on the 24" Commencal apparently tried to hit that on his race run and cased it, crashed, collected his thoughts and still managed a 2nd place. Flippen impressive

That little guy was heroic.
