Got a small pinch flat right next to the edge of the rim, I'm really struggling to get the stans to seal it, well its not!

There is a fair amount of stans in the tyre. I think the last time I had this issue I just put a double dose of stans in and the sheer volume of fluid managed to get to the hole. Any concrete methods for getting these pesky little critters sealed?

You need a fair amount of luck with that - better to strip it off enough to get access to the hole and plug it with a big plug -should seal after that.

How does the rim look?

Rim is perfect, the pinch is small, takes a day for the tyre to go flat.

Hoping to find a method that doesn't involve taking the tyre off.

Clean and dry the inside of the tyre and patch the hole with a regular butyl glue patch. Nice big patch and lots of glue.

+1 on this method, is like puncture fixing a tyre instead of a tube, works!!

Not sure where I read it, might have been here, but apparently (I have not tried it) if you add some glitter to the inside of the tire with the Stans it helps seal bigger holes. I think the reasoning would be that the glitter pieces block up the hole so all the Stans don't get blown out. Not sure id any particular colour of glitter works better ^_^

Hi,

I agree with Mr V but the few times that it has happened to me after going over a cattle grid or two, I have managed to plug it by de-flating the tyre completly and getting in with a plug.

Can be frustrating - good luck

Problem is I can't get the fluid to run over the hole as its in such an awkward place.

Well it looks like a plug or patch is the only way :(

Try deflating it, plug it and add some fluid from outside - just a drop - when it hardens - re-inflate.

The only way to get some fluid to it inside is to have more than normal inside, and with the wheel off. sort of flick it around to cover the hole - like I say - you need a certain amount of luck... or tons of patience.

Or, cut a small piece out of a tube, and superglue it over the hole on the inside. Or even contact if you have time for it to set.

I dripped some super glue on the hole(protected the rim with masking tape) took a needle and pushed the glue into the hole let it dry properly and it's sealing fine now.

I'll see how it holds up!

With my luck, that repair will desert me 80km into a 160km out and back ride

I have done it before and that one has held ever since but it's not ideal. Some kind of super glue that is flexible would be killer

Tyre pressure is still holding overnight, looks like this job is done!

Obviously superglue on its own may not be the ideal solution for bigger holes/pinches but small ones it's good
