Hey, this is weird. On today's ride, I had a Jungle Energy Bar, the dark chocolate one, and when I had finished it, I was just about to drop the wrapper, and I thought, ' that's not right', so I stuffed it back in my pocket and chucked it in the bin at home. Now I read this. Cool. I'm a good guy thenBig%20smile

It just occured to me that I havent given littering one thought while on a ride. My main aim is to get through the 100km to the end, but click click. From now on i'm not going to throw my empty gel sachets on the floor.

Now i'm cross with myself.

If i am not mistaken,

most of those packets are left over from the Nationals that was held a few weeks ago.

I rode around on the sunday after and on the top road when you come out the second time, which was the only place to drink/eat the road was full of the packets. And a lot more than what was collected today!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you talking about "f*&king cyclists" or are you talking about "f*&king litterbugs"?  Does being a cyclist automatically mean you are a litterbug??
No!! Excepting all those who once owned those energy gels!! Semantics!!!

Raced there at the provincial today and it was pretty clean! Even after my 4th lap it was still OK .. perhaps it's the 'casual' riders Shocked, but then again why would they ride with gels .............

Thanks for the support Holy Roller and by the way I did ride that slippery up on laps 2-4, pity you didn't see it! Jeez but the course was way slippery apparently there was heavy rain Friday ..... but a second place medal at provincial champs is not too shabby.

So BG and Jules, you went and practiced and so where were you today huh huh?

Jeez I haven't kakked off so much in a long time. Epoh and Sam had to turn round on the hills to see what happened to me smiley36.gif.

Only did one lap and when I got home I was zzzzzzzzzz

Well done BB! That was a hard course. BG and I took one look at it and decided it was too technical!

BG hasn't been the same since she broke her chainring protector so she decided to stay at home today.

BB, well done!

Litterbugs will never change.  In the R4S I scolded one oke about chucking his Goo and Energy Bar wrapper next to the road.  I just got sworn at and told that he "pays to do that".  So Bruce, maybe you guys up front don't litter, but it's a real problem in the lower groups.  And it is the cyclist in general!

I was riding in Tokai last week and was amazed at the litter on the singletrack sections, these are short steep sections, how people manage to suck down a goo or eat a bar and still litter while riding these sections is beyond me.

there's one singletrack section at groenkloof which has a huge piece of broken glass. must remember to pack some newspaper and pack it in my camelbak next time!
