sluiper Posted April 25, 2014 Share Also in wave 3. Haven't done a thing since Ironman apart from a few pool sessions, so really not going to be racing tomorrow
@ndy Posted April 25, 2014 Share I'm also in wave three at 8:30 which suprised me as Its only my third tri and I thought a noob like myself would get a later start. On the radio this morning Richard Murray was talking about the water being so cold they might make it a one lap swim. Any one heard more? It looks like it could be a chilly race in the rain. I think that the elite race could be cut due to cold water, not sure if this applies to the age groupers. must say 750 m sounds a lot better than 1.5 km in the frigid waters. Pity about the rain, hopefully it holds off, I was planning on attacking the bike leg with unbridled agression

I don't mind the cold water so much. After 5 minutes you don't notice it much any more. Unless it's under 10 degrees, then I might start minding it. Sidekick Racer Posted April 25, 2014 Share anyone heard any more info about whether the swim will be on... or if it will turn into a biathlon? or when we'll find out for sure? It will definitely be on.... Cold does not make it unsafe....just makes wetsuits compulsory. JGR
