What I'm saying is that the climbers are not really too disadvantaged this year in terms of the TTs.

So the fact that Nairo (like Contador) is no slouch in this discipline, he's got the upper hand when you compare the two favourites...

... And Cadel will be smiling too. The first ITT should be a good place for him to try and take a chunk out of Rodriguez, with that very fast second half:

Jip, Nairo is quite good in a ITT. Remember last year when little pozzovivo was 3rd in the a ITT.

Rigoberto Uran also, he came 4/5th last weekend at the Romandie ITT.

So Cadel wont be the only GC favourite to take time on the others.

I look forward to the velogame fantasy, I'm normally pretty ****, just look at my superbru.

Lets not confuse a flat ITT such as the above and a hilly one... Cadel will take close on a minute out of the 3 Hispanic riders on a flat ITT.

OK, here's a friendly bet for you: Quintana to beat Evans on the 'flat' ITT.

No offence, but I don't believe someone that says F1 cars must make lots of noise as F1 is the pinnacle of motorsport.

I agree that it's the pinnacle of the sport, but seriously?

And back on topic, I will see you a fistfull of dollars that Quintana will beat Evans in both TT's at the Giro.

Wait, the only cash I have on me at the moment are some dirhams. Those will have to do. I might have a few Euro floating around somewhere as well.

Uran also in the mix on the ITT.

Bet on :)

I sure hope I'm not overestimating our favourate Aussies ITT ability?

But I can help but think of what he did to poor Andy Schleck in the 2011 TDF.

For the record, I'm hoping/betting on Rodriguez to win the tour.

HAHA none taken, but take it from someone that goes to a Grand Prix once a year, Formula 1 cars must make a noise! :)

However, as for the Cadel TT topic... I may yet have to eat my words :-P

I've taken a quick look back at Nairo's recent time trial results. In the the recent Tour De San Luis, Stage 5 was a very windy and flat 19km time trial. That's about as un-friendly a parcours as could possibly be for him. Little Nairo came in 16th overall, 1:18 down.

So on the hillier profile of the first ITT, he could actually quite easily take a top 10 for the stage.

If Cadel does beat him in the first ITT, I doubt it will be by a huge margin. And he'll likely make it all back again in the second ITT up the mountain in the 3rd week when Cadels old legs might not be too fresh.
