Georg Posted May 8, 2014 Share Hi again fellow bikers. I posted a topic last week where I listed 4 bikes that seems to be good value bikes for my budget. (Ghost, GT, Merida and Titan) The list was shortened whereby I now am between two bikes... Again, like my previous topic, as a newbie, I am not clued up on components etc.. The two bikes that stands out for me, based on feedback from other riders are: - Merida TFS 300 Big Nine- Momsen AL 229 I am being told that the shock and components on the Momsen is better, but I also need to know if the frame is decent etc.. Is there someone who own or owned these bikes that can let me know which is better?I am new to the sport and want my first bike to last a while before upgrades. I will be the typical weekend cruiser withy the family.. Thanks for your time and advice..

El Scorcho Posted May 8, 2014 Share I'd go for the Momsen, generally the best bang for buck in that price range. I've been through this exercise twice and, spoiler alert, I now own two Momsens. Wez-O

Julian Posted May 8, 2014 Share I'd also go for the momsen! Had the 2013 big nine TFS 300, nice bike but its weight is a disadvantage...

Wez-O Posted May 9, 2014 Share I also recon that Momsen are the best value for money in that range.Infact, I've had a pro mountain biker tell me that Momsen are even the best value for money in the 20-30k range.
