I'm guessing Albstadt was the proverbial proof in the pudding. Three riders inside the top ten, one of them being the winner.

Shimano played their cards well.

Why not do away with the wires? More batteries?

EDIT: Aaah, watched the SRAM video posted earlier. Explains.

SRAM's system is wireless. Road release target for 2015 XX1 mid year 2015 but typically there will be problems so bank on 2016 model year for a flawless system.

Absalon Absolutely fabulous!! first win for XTR Di2 out of the box..

Oh yeah my earlier comment on a greater degree of linearity with the 2x11 ratios with the 11x40 cassette seems ot have been vindicated by Mr Bretjens. The Sncroshift can be programmed to give you a greater degree of smaller incremental shifts than XX1. ie. you have a bigger effective pre-programmed gearbox.

I wonder how many kidneys will one have to fork out for this

If you have to ask you can't afford it....

Think in the R40k region...

I played with the Shimano XTR Di2 test bike the other day and love it.

Can't afford it but love it.

The single shifter is a winner! It has a display for the Fox electro suspension too. Dig it.

Opens the door for all sorts of electronic jiggery pockery. For example - you could ultimately say you want 90rpm all the time and let the system change automatically. It is not standard of course but having it electronic allows it.

For now the bank requires that I stay mechanical....

Does anyone know where I can get a E-Tube Plug Tool and cable housing hole caps for my XTR Di2 setup, I am in Pretoria?

I dont want to damage my cables and would rather do it the right way.

Cheers.
