What is a reasonable time frame to expect feedback from Momsen after you have informed them of damage (paint) to a frame?

So not cracked or anything just some paint damage ? 2-3 Days ( and thats long) in my opinion .Did you go through the shop you bought from ?

No I have not gone through the shop I bought the Vipa from for reason below.

Bike was send to TWT for a replacement of the lower cable guide, turned in the frame.

Only two bike shops in our town, I try my best to go to both and spend money equally, thus bike was at the other shop for service when thy phoned about the bolt turning in the frame.

Receiving the frame back, there is damage to the paint at the headset.

I was very upset, and send Momsen an email myself and have received no feedback.

You can phone them direct Jonathan deals with warranty's normally , but when I dealt with my frame I phoned them every day until resolved

They will want photos of the damage and then probably you will need to send the frame back to them to get it repaired - I hate that part ( no bike for the time its with them then)

Just give them a ring and take it from there ( they probably out riding  )

Itching to phone...

They have received photo`s from the bike shop and myself.

Do not let me go on about the courier services... no bike for December due to guide and courier service.

just phone and keep phoning them until resolved - also ask for timelines and when they commit keep them to it. email is useless when it comes to these things (should not be but if some one could not be bothered to answer an email it tells me something about them and the company they work for)

Bad experience with warranty claim. First had all sorts of stipulations I had to adhere to. Met all of them. Then started the emails and phonecalls saga. Then all sorts of red tape, in the end took my money and spent it on someone who are willing to honour there service agreements. They wont see my money again.

My view on any BRAND today is the experience from buying a good quality product , using it and then the process of claiming if anything goes wrong.

Its not good enough having a good product , but then failing when there is a claim. Any brand out there should understand that these things are expensive and success of a brand lies in being able to have excellent service in any part of the user experience. Consumers are also getting more clever and if at any time one has a bad experience then one can only take your money elsewhere

I would like to hear more good/bad experiences on this topic from other main brands as well

Which brands give you a loan bike for instance when you have a warranty claim ?

What are the turn around times on claims  ?

I received a phone call this morning, finally!!

Now have to complete an authorisation to repair letter.

In house attorney says no way signing that.

I just want my bike back in the same condition it was send.

Hmm,

So a friends VIPA has cracked at the end of the RHS rear chain stay see photos below. Anyone else had issues with the VIPA frame and if so where did it break. It looks like a manufacturing issue.

Anyone seen similar?

All Vipa rear ends are carbon. You can buy a new swing arm from them for around 5 k if the warranty is not going to work.

will keep you updated.

Its just the lower swingarm. Looks like a section that has been bonded to the end of the stays.

So I assume no one else has seen anything like this?

BTW - any leagl beagles out there that can comment on the fact that the manufacturer's warranty lapses once the goods are sold to another owner. THis si not the same in cars....

May I ask a stupid question here?

Why is the damage on the paint Momsen's fault in the first place?

Should this not be the Bikeshop where the bike was left's responsibility to sort?

Sounds to me like the mechanic at the bike shop screwed this one up.
