broncoza Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 I am finding that I am not training during the week when I am away from home. Too much hassle to take a bike on racks where I travel. I am considering buying a folding bike to train on. Is this a stupid idea? Will I get benefit or are they really only good for going from Gautrain to the office?

Yup - seriously - and they are pretty easy to travel with too - and really great for seeing new cities too - they also fit in your handluggage. Luckily I can skate... years of practice as a kid on an ice rink... swapping to roller blades took about 3 minutes. Most cities allow blades in their bike lanes too - so getting around becomes really easy - and if you can skate they are pretty quick as well.

There was only 1 rink in PE when I was a kid... at the beachfront where the McArthur baths are - long time ago... But we did play the odd match in Pretoria, Jhb and Durban - and nationals in Jhb and Durban - if memory serves me correctly.
