How many kg have you dropped since cycling?

Whhat did you do?

In March I started banting. By end April I was only lightly following the diet. No sugar, cheat day on Sat, rest of the time low or no carbs.

Was heading out for quick 20km rides during the week and longer 50km on the weekend. During the week was 2 or 3 rides.

Since winter hit, rides during the week have stopped as it is dark too quickly. I got to the gym instead and run for 20 mins in the treadmill. I am also not so strict on my diet anymore. Have carbs here and there, and if I see a chocolate laying around - I eat the bugger :)

Finding the regular exercise is what is helping the most. The initial diet just helped the quick weight loss. Keeping it off I attribute to exercise.

My wife used to tease me that I was getting chubby. Now she is moaning that I am getting too thin. Lol.

How many of you have had a weight issue since giving up smoking?

How many have started smoking again because of weight gain?

This is when my weight issue started 15 years ago...and yes i do still crave a puff every now and again...but I dont because i know 1 puff and i am back to 20-30 a day...

I stopped smoking 6 years ago, but took up vaping. Still vaping today, so never really had to deal with this problem :)

what did you do?

I stopped drinking alcohol for 12 weeks. I just ate less and healthier. If I snacked it was an apple or some other fruit. Would not eat more than a piece of fish/chicken with veg in the evenings. And 2 x 30km cycling after work during the week and a 70-80km cycle the weekend. It just gets so much easier after the first week

Spot the common denominator in the thread. Eat less. Eat healthier. No booze and exercise more.

for some I understand the need to give it up.

for the rest of us me  , it is a luxury I just cannot give up. Love the champers and wine to much. Dont do the hard stuff (okay a whiskey once in a while on the rocks with ice) and no beer.

I can't even use that as an excuse. If I have more than 1 glass of wine a month it is a lot!

I would never give up beer. When we go out, I drink beer but to keep calories down I simply don't eat. Works a charm.

going with the eating is cheating concept?

You get drunk faster and don't get as fat, so it's a win win in my opinion.

And in this financial crisis we sit...its a cost saving initiative

Never been a big drinker - kind of - but I never stopped it. If I feel like a whiskey, I have it, and the same with beer. Whiskey is preference over beer though, and thankfully so.

So a few more weeks in, and I dropped down to 127kg's and lost 6cm around muh belly. Unfortunately this week it seems that I am getting heavier (back to 128) although I haven't had carbs for a week, and cut out sugar as of yesterday. Also been cycling on the Trojan so hopefully its muscle, water retention, and whatever else I can blame.

Smoking has also cut down from 20 to around 8 a day.

After going to a skills clinic on Sunday at Avianto, I realized that uphills are never going to agree with me
