  1. Yesterday, the tool in the picture knocked me off the road. Thankfully I recovered and managed to mindsnap his registration. I caught up with the guy a bit later while he was visiting this nursery. Take note how he is responding to this (confirms he is the right person). Sometimes mistakes happen and I may have let it go had he apologised, checked if I was okay, etc... But as soon as the metal sound of car hitting bike sounded - HE HIT HIS ACCELERATOR HARD. IE: A hitter and runner.
  2. For sure. Stuff is great. Got 2 more tubs at CWC on the Black Friday special. R140 each
  3. Based on this thread, I purchased some Cadence on Fri with Saturdays 106km Bestmed in mind. Not sure if it was the drink or just a good day, but I had a fantastic ride. Even Hekpoort was not a struggle.
  4. Last year I was new to road events, and got a *** start of 08H30 or something. This year 06H50. Muuuccchhh better.
  5. Been riding a Titan Comp 29er HT for a couple of years now, and mulling over getting a dual suspension. Based on my experience with my current Titan, I am down for this. For my style of riding, my Titan handles damned well. Done plenty of 60 to 80km rides on it. Smacked trees, failed air, etc... Bike survives and keeps going.
  6. I ride a Titan Comp 29er. Had it 2 years now and zero desire yet to upgrade it. Fantastic bikes these. Wifey also recently got herself a Titan, and we going to get my son one. Smashed my face up against a tree, wiped out while attempting some air, blah. Body bust - bike survived every time with no breakages. Only replacements have been wear and tear.
  7. I am too n00b to know the differences, so I just greet everyone [emoji12]
  8. My daily bike shop. Never gone anywhere else since I discovered them.
  9. Edited mine down then. I get quick peaks at 164, but seldom go above 160.

  11. Some great riding at Mount Sheba today. Out the gate is an ascent of note. No stop to the top! The pic with my bike shows the resort down in the valley. Was buggered when done, but the variation in terrain from tar to forest to bush to... Made it all worth it.
  12. Ya, inches. My bad. Think I will go large too. I don't like tight stuff. Thx!
  13. What size would a 32cm waste be? Large? I am keen to get a pair.
  14. Had a minor altercation with a motorist this afternoon for jumping the 3 way stop and almost taking me out. Told him he was an asshole, and he took offence to it. Was interesting...

    JUMA 2016

Good, cause we heading there just now. Can't flipping wait...
  16. Correction... 5.10 shoes and the pedals that go with them. Can't remember the brand of pedals. They were R900 or something. My wife did the research and decided on what she wanted. I just bought them. Personally, I prefer cleats so don't really have a clue about these 5.10's. Wifey is enjoying them though and riding more often with me now.
  17. Awesome morning hey peeps. With the flu and nausea, I managed to not dismount once except that very steep section of the monster. Was about 30m I had to walk. Like a tool, I grabbed a banana from the hydration station just before the monster. Any food did not sit well with me because of the nausea. So out of all the climbing, I walked 30m on that one section. Lesson learned - no more eating. As usual, awesome morning out. Now it's braai and whiskey time.
  18. I am gonna go hey. If I end up puking in a bush somewhere - so be it. At least I tried. Besides, there is the FNB area to look forward to
  19. She just smiled at me. I will leave it there [emoji4]
  20. My wife is a senior manager there - and never knew or said anything about this. /Off to have words with wifey...
  21. Been looking forward to this for months now. Sat my daughter gets ill and by Tues has passed it on to me. I have recovered somewhat but stressing I won't be fully recovered by Sat. Gonna be real bleak if I miss this. EDIT : Sigh, stomach not playing nice this AM. I have a feeling I will have to sit this one out.
  22. With King Price. My wife called yesterday to do the annual renegotiation of our premiums. When done, the lady on the other end offered 1 extra item per vehicle at R1 PM regardless of value. My wife insured both our bikes. Sorted. Full comprehensive insurance - for R1 per bike.
  23. My favourite has become Doringdraai. About 240km from Edenvale. Dammed good value for money lodges, and brilliant MTB riding. My wife has finally had the MTB bug bite, and we now intend heading out there every few weeks. Just actually gotten back from a weekend there.
  24. Got my wife the 5-10 pedals and shoes. Loves them. Ye - they are a bit expensive - but it's my wife
  25. My first Emperors Road. Did 20km MTB last year (and suffered). Got into Road with the 94.7 2015 so figured I would do emperors road this year. Loved it. Not been training much which showed. Got 03H03 with 32km/h average. Was within my goals so happy. Next year I will ensure I train hard and finish with the big boys on sub 02H30
