Its winter wet and muddy which I love. I've been looking at Mud Guards. A little protection to stop the paint chipping and all that...

Who stocks anything like the ones shown below...

I've made it myself after I've googled the image using a plastic 5L container, they say one can use a 2,5L plastic colddrink bottle as well.

It's starting to rain here and I'm tired of getting mud in my eye :whistling: , so I did a search for fenders and got a number of templates. I'll be using the first one and cutting it out of 4mm plastic from a 20l container that I used for another project (the advantages of being a farmer, all the left over material form old projects, and I'm a bit of a DIY freak)

'Cycle Tech'? You don't mean Summit Cycles ....

Yip my brains obviously not what it used to be.

Saw them at Cycle Tech.

Sorry Sheriff, yip you got Summit Cycles... Don't Know if you have them.

If anyone in Jhb makes them, let me know where you get the plastic from. A milk bottle just does not do it for me and I cannot find anyone that stocks laminate type placemats any more...

Use an old HTH chlorine bucket. Nicely curved thick plastic.

Great idea, I'll ask a neighbour. He has the cheapest pool, in terms of maintenance, around. I used to send my kids to swim there often. Cost me nothing in maintenance.
