andydude Posted March 14, 2016 Share Guys, a question to you after reading this: Adjusting Your Functional Threshold Power for Indoor Riding http://home.trainingpeaks.com/blog/article/adjusting-your-functional-threshold-power-for-indoor-riding Do you guys find the same thing that your FTP is lower indoors compared to outdoors and do you adjust for it between in-and outdoors? I can hold a way higher wattage for longer out on the bike than on the trainer. I measure my FTP on the trainer though. Don't do any adjustments to the figure though andydude

Sorry i don't have a power meter for outdoors so cannot compare. I find the indoor FTP tests are harder if i compare it to a similar outdoor heart rate based Lactic threshold test, which i put down to that HR does not react like power (slower to rise and drop off) whereas on the IDT with power you are instantly aware of the effort (watts) which drop instantly compared to HR andydude

Broker Posted March 16, 2016 Share You are right Harryn it was tough. Unfortunately my system stopped for no reason after 15,2 km. It was my 1st experience and really enjoyed it
Fast Forward Posted March 16, 2016 Share Mine also froze for a moment and then was ok again. Then on that last climb i dropped a chain but managed to fix it.

Jaco-fiets Posted March 16, 2016 Share What do you guys prefer: Races of 30-45min or races of 45-60min? Harryn
Fast Forward Posted March 16, 2016 Share Maybe 60min - forces you to pace a bit more, rather than full taps... Broker
Harryn Posted March 16, 2016 Share What do you guys prefer: Races of 30-45min or races of 45-60min?Let's ask Gupta! I am easy - maybe mix it up, week by week ?
Jaco-fiets Posted March 16, 2016 Share Agreed!Next week will be something around 20km with few climbing. You can go full taps. Week after that maybe some more climbing so you can pace yourself Edited March 16, 2016 by Jaco-fiets Harryn and Broker
